NobelClad uses its proprietary explosion welding process, DetaClad™, to produce durable zirconium clad used in fabrication of reactors, columns, heat exchangers and similar chemical processing equipment.
Zirconium clad is used for corrosive chemical processes like concentrated acetic acid, methionine, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and urea. The benefit is that the plate can be cladded on both sides with zirconium, for inside and outside corrosion protection.
A zirconium plate can have a backer of several metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and copper, giving engineers the design flexibility to meet project needs.
